Our cultural excursions will take you to some of the most enchanting historical sites of the region where you can discover the beauty of the landscape and Moorish architecture. These excursions include places like a cheese factory, blanket factory, olive oil mill, winery and wheat mill, which still preserve the traditional craftsmanship. From never-ending olive groves and vineyards, poppies on the corn fields and vibrant sunflowers chasing the sun, Andalusia will leave a lasting impression on you. The guides will show you some of the best kept secrets and distinctive corners of Southern Spain, and they will explain the history of the sites in an easily understood Spanish and give German/English translations if necessary.
Some of the cultural excursions include:
- the “dreamt-of town”Ronda
- the White Villages of the Cadiz mountains Zahara de la Sierra with its imposing castle and the impressive views over the peacock blue lake and then over the “Puerto de las Palomas” (1357 m) to Grazalema high up in the mountains with the typical Moorish architecture and easily approachable Spanish firs (called ‘pinsapos’ in Spanish), a relict from the Tertiary Age.
- the cave village Setenil de las Bodegas, also from Moorish origin, where the houses are built in the rocks of a canyon
- the salt works of Prado del Rey combined with a cheese manufacturer and the traditional wheat mill in the neighbouring village El Bosque.
